That one has been discussed above and is 1/4" UNF by 1.5" long.

As for manifold studs, my Minis all had UNF both ends which was somewhat surprising to me, but that is how they were, from about 1961 848cc to 1984 A+. I do hear that many are UNC at the head end but have never seen one yet. Very odd! Maybe the factory ran out of UNC taps on at least 3 occasions?

on the same vein, why are there two threaded bolt holes with captive nuts on the slave cylinder itself? When I mounted mine I use the holes on the plate to bolt to clutch housing.

Am I doing it correctly.

I don't understand. There are two captive nuts on the plate, surely? The cylinder just has two plain holes.

I have no bolts through the cylinder as you can see. All I have is two bolts on the other end of angled plate holding it clutch bell housing....

Either cylinder has seized in place on the plate or it's being held there by invisible powers....

Well, that is just plain wrong as you can see the captive nuts on the back of the plate where the bolts should go. Someone has possibly broken both bolts in their holes and perhaps used something like superglue to try to fix the cylinder in place.

You should take it apart and fix it with new bolts. You may have to drill out and rethread the plate or get a new one.

As above you need bolts.

You are also missing the spacer and bolt to hold the plate to the caseing. See the exploded view

I am amazed that it has not come loose! The spacer is quite important. I am still pondering the mysterious invisible bolts...
