only problem i seee with an engine this highly spec'd you will need to be rebuilding this once a season or 3000 miles


It sure ain't an engine for a road going car! Yes, re-build very often.

its pointless without the pistons it was bored to accept really.


Sorry, but why??? they accept 73.5mm pistons, can be bought from lots of places:) more point than -> XD

You normally bore to suit a specific set of pistons for a particular use. For racing, the bores are slightly larger normally, only 1/2 a thou or so, but a bit larger tyo reduce the risk of seizing during racing at, say, 8000 rpm. I would buy a newly bored engine at a smaller size, but if it was bored slightly too big at 1380 it could be a scrap block in the worst case. I had one at 1380 that had been bored about 0.003" too big. The guy had bought the re-built engine asw all-new, but when fitted it smoked like a Boeing 707. As he did not want to buy more expensive pistons, we scrapped the block, got another one and bored that correctly.
It's always 'buyer beware'.
But that's a bit off topic for this thread.
