I'm off to pickup a nice little cooper located in the wilds of northern most Scotland, currently sat on the train with the narky teenager who so far has embarassed me by breaking wind loudly at York station and is now laughing incessantly at Inbetweeners on his DVD (with head phones on fortunately).

Sat next to a spanish couple who are eating eggs and crisps, only another 5 hours to do >_<

Thank god for lager and free WIFI

Overnight in the travel lodge then an EPIC journey back through the Caingorms, pictures will follow (I wonder if the spaniish couple want their picture taking).

Cheers, cant wait for the drive...just sorted out my temp insurance, £1.40 to include AA cover, hopefully not needed but a bargain at that price.....spannish couple are now concerned about the negative energy on the train as they tuck into a second round of boiled eggs.

I get the feeling this is going to be interesting!

Mind if I ask where you got the insurance from? I need to get mine home from the body shop.

i have used tempcover and dayinsure, both used to be similar but recently dayinsure was a lot cheaper. You might find its still a bit pricey for a trip back from the bodyshop but I paid 17 quid for a days insurance and AA cover.

Spanish couple have departed but narky teen has stretched out and taken his shoes off, strange smell of cheese now....

Checking route out, down to Aviemore then Dundee then Edinburgh.....then choice... quick way down the A68 to Newcastle or the coast run down the A1.......coast runs tempting me.

will try to find it for you, but there's a stretch of road south of jedburgh, big long straight that has got some fantastic hills/dips. we has the xjr off the ground a few times, had to slow down in the end as my lad was starting to feel sick!!
