Because the nasty men won't let them!
It wouldn't pass all sorts of modern requirements (safety etc) unless it was a total re-design, Then it wouldn't be the oldskool classic mini! Crash tests etc would kill em!

BUT they still make the old style beetle in mexico so maybe they do the mini somewhere too.

They own MINI (which I think means they own the actual word) and I think BMH (British Motor Heritage) own the patents etc on the classic mini. 
I am probably wrong on that, but there are threads on here somewhere discussing it all.

ooo cool, I always liked Beetles. Glad they are still going strong (well, sort of)! :grin:minimadme-i think that they do still make the beetle in mexico. You can import one to here for about £12000.

hey, happymini, why do you always post topics with the same title??? would be easier for people to see what you want to talk about if you put a different title?
As for this topic, the classic mini would never pass any of the safety regulations that are around now (thanks to the Ba@~ards at BMW) so will not go back into production
