What engine / parts de-greasers have peeps used that gave stratifying results

As I’m In the process of stripping my engine axillaries
Replacing worn items with new or recons and painting it all
As well as tiding up the wiring and beating the dreaded rust fairies handy work

And finding everything covered in a mix of road grime and grease that has built up over my minis 20+ year life

As at the mo I have been using white sprit and brake cleaner which unfortunately doesn’t agree with my head

(sorry to hijack but save another thread!)

I've just aquired this massive parts washer! Apparently you just fill it up and it filters it as it pumps the liquid onto the work shelf!

Does anyone know anywhere that would sell like 25 litres of degreaser cheap? :erm:

For the odd bit here and there I use Motorex Power Break clean, It's amazing stuff but don't expect to clean much with it.

Paint thinners, parafin or diesel. All good and 'slightly' less dangerous than petrol.

I use this.... Machinemart - Solvent parts washer fluid or equivalent...

And then rinse in petrol / parafin ( depends what I have the most of  )

Ps, don't use petrol in a parts washer, as it'll screw up your pump..

Bucket of paraffin, dump parts into it, leave for abit. Stiff brush. Jobs a good 'en!

Good idea to have a lid on it though, as I think paraffin evaporates... although Im not 100% sure..?

Don't use Swarfega degreaser. It's rubbish, and leaves everything covered in a sticky mess! :w00t:

I've got some stuff I picked up in Sweden which works great!. I'll remember to look at the name tomorrow. It comes in big bottles and in a spray.

Cillet C**p more like... over hyped junk... but if you are going to use a kitchen detergent, I find Mr Muscle much better :w00t:
