Brought my clubby from a scrapyard took me a year to get the logbook car had vin plates no number plates or engine I applyed for the logbook but it turned out the car was cleared from a council rented garage the owner hadnt paid the rent and they cleared the garage including the car he then tryed to tell the dvla the car was stolen I had to prove legal ownership so did the scrapyard and the council eventuly it all came good I hope you dont have this sort of hassle trying to get the v5

how long ago was that and was it actully declared as scrap ?

Was about 5 years ago didnt show up on dvla txt check at all it was as if it didnt exist dont actually no if it was declared scrap or not

i have emiled them again today and have been told i will be assigned a v5 to the vehical either a age related one or the original but they may want to inspect the vehical to see it originanlity

And wouldn't the mid 1980 on actually be mg-rover as make? that would be the SAX in the vin number

Post 78 commercial mini's were simply called Mini 95. Not Mini 95 Van, Mini 95 Pickup etc, just Mini 95.

No it would be British Leyland, so Austin.

i sent it today with ausitn and mini 95 and put in the letter attched about the diffrent models eg it could be called van 95 95l ect

You could also just go and steal a van in good nick, then use that log book if you want? It's the same kind of deal aint it?

Seriously, logbook ringing is illegal and I really can't see why SO many people with Minis seem so keen to promote it.

ild never ring a mini rather turn it into a track car with Bo identity then ring it
