Well thats what the top fuse does yet it still keeps the relay switched once the engines running, works fine with the engine off.

I'll try one of the old coil wires - The black and white one or the pink/white one?

I only need it to switch the relay not really power the whole lot off, so 9v will probably do as long as it drops to 0v once the ignition is off. Also the way my MJ is wired with the rev limiter I can't power the coil directly as its wired through that.

I'll do some more checks on monday and see where else would be suitable

Its powered from a second fusebox which is powered by a relay which is switched by the top fuse, I don't want it to be permanently live but some how it is.

I want to try and get it powered off this second fusebox set up as I installed it especially to run all my extra ancillaries off like the MJ, spotlights, fuel pump etc, so don't want it to be a waste of time/money now i've installed it all.

Ok well tried switching the relay with that fuse, buts it drops its voltage whilst cranking so no good.

But I tried a couple of tests today and found that when the engines running and i've took the ignition key out, the top fuse is still receiving 6v from somewhere. I also noticed the ignition light stays on.

So did some searching on here and found a post from Wil h explaining how he had a similar problem. But yeah anyway I think whats happening is, once the alternators spinning, its powering the top fuse, via the ignition light and keeping the relay in regardless of what the ignition key is doing.

So spoke to will and he confirmed thats what happened to him and showed me this link: http://www.mgexperie...tion-run-on.pdf

So yeah tomorrow going to go to maplin and get a suitable diode to put in the ignition light wire and see if it fixes it - I hope it does!

Also sorted the high idle out - Topped up the dashpot and tightened up the breather pipe into the carb and its idling nice now
