a few more pictures of recent work.

finally got the dash mounted in, it was too tight using the standard top rail, the dash sat too low.  Although i did a dummy build and thought it looked ok, it definately wasn't.

so i removed the top rail and put some rig-nuts were the dash rail used to bolt and made this plastic, leatherette clad top rail.

its not too bad, i would of loved an orange painted one but as it has to flex i thought i might be in for some trouble.

i then got some grille buttons made up at work in Stainless. they look good.

also got the little bits added onto engine bay, such as air filter, washer jets, and such

next things to do is bleed the brakes, fit the other arches, fit interior and then glass, also need to tidy them HT leads up, ive bought some off a nice chap on Turbo minis hopefully the engine bay can be buttoned up.

Projects looking awesome buddy!

One thing though, that air filter is going to starve your system! It's far too small for any turbo applications, it's almost too small for a standard 998.

Im working on that,  i have a larger one but have ran out of Stainless pipe, i intend on putting my larger one above the alternator.  That small one is off a bike i had. looks good but yeah it will probably be restrictive.  more photos to be uploaded soon, im leaving the engine bay as i have now started work on the interior...

hahahaha... disaster of a night..  i thought id get the brakes bled, everything is new, new cylinders on rear, and new refurbished 4 pot calipers on front, new goodridge hoses, all new lines, refurbished brake master cylinder.

one of the bloody goodridge hoses was loose and on tightening into the drivers caliper, the thread got tight, on removing and inspecting, all seemed good, on refitting, if picked up again and fudged the threads up..  time to try and find a new hose.

after a nice conversation with good ridge, they offered to replace the hose Free of charge... bonus.  all is good and the brakes are no bled and ready to rock and roll.

on a different note, i thought i would have a good go at getting the interior finished, so i think im pretty much there now, just got to sort out the roof lining and install the windows and obviously seats.

im still not sure about the aluminium door cards, there light and look ok but im not 100%

hopefully i will get s few hours in to install the door seal and tidy everything up ready for a test drive.

It's been a while......

New air filter fitted

I've had to modify the cage to go around my dash. I've used thicker carbon pipe and done some quick FEA on the cage to make sure it's not compromised in terms of strength. Some nice tig welding later and it's almost ready to fit.

I've just purchased my harnesses so after Christmas it should be ready to take the the rollers to get setup and run in.

Been a long while.

Minis all road worth now.

I'm not 100% sure with the front splitter but I am very happy with the colour, especially in a bright day.
