i have been looking into doing a bit of bare metal polishing for example i would like to polish a eaton m45 supercharger to get a shine that is far superior then doing it by hand

what way is best to go?

80grit flapper wheel then work my way up to a 250G both used as a drill attachment

then move onto a 500wet and dry and work up to a 2000? again with hand?

then use autosole on a micro fibre cloth?

or is there a better way?

i attempted to polish a set of Audi TT Comps on a past car. I had all listed above and a machine polisher - promptly gave up and gave to a fella who mirror polished the 4 of them for £80.

once done, i just had to use autoglym metal polish with the machine polisher to keep them looking shiny!
