87 NIC, I don't know what favours you pull for the police in your area, but come to Manchester with those front tints and you will get well and truly shafted.

I love tints, all the cars in my household are tinted. I went for medium smoke on my back 3 windows and nothing on the front:

And for those who say you can't see out of tints, this is what mine are like in daylight. At night they're obviously darker but nothing dangerous:

From other angles it looks much darker than it is, like this where your looking through the side and rear glass at dusk:

I'm truly shocked!

My mate had dark tints like yours fitted and got pulled 4 days after having them done and got fined and told to remove them.

He went back and had light smoke fitted, it was a really subtle tint, even at night wasn't that noticeable and he got pulled again within 2 weeks.

This was on a golf so maybe more of a target to traffic police, he's now got a 330 BMW and he's had light smoke on the front of that for years now and not been stopped.

Does anyone know if the tint on the Designer was film or somehow permanant factory tinted glass (smoke glass I believe it's called?) ??

My Mary Quant doesn't have any tint on it now, although like Chris the brochure says it came tinted. Curious as to how dark to go and what it should look like. 30% maybe?

It's down to your personnal opinion really, if you like tints get it done, I had the back 3 of my Honda tinted and I love the way it looks.

I didnt do anything with the front windows and personnally I wouldn't

I like it, and it's a lifesaver where I live because of the sun.

But for trying to go "original", how dark would it have been in 1988 and was the factory tint just film?
