As it happens!!
It was one of those things when I was a lad!
It was just a nick name for the car you could buy a Mini Shitty or a Mini Gayfair or even a Mini Pooper!
Just something stupid, bit like an Austin All Aggro, Austin Monty (Montego), Ford Escrote (Escort), Ford Festerer (Fiesta) etc etc
They never really implied anything, just daft nicknames.
Does that make me a Grand Pr*ck?

Not all Mayfairs were brought by "Gays". Check this one out.
