i am just awaiting the arrival of my 7.5" 4 pot cooper brake kit so that i can fit either 10x6" deepdish minilights, stramags or slotmags and i want to know will wood and pickett arched fit fine or do i need to go bigger and more importantly do i need to cut away any of the arches and how do i go about that and fit arches on once cut (if neccesary?? :-)

well just so you know (you may have sorted it now but anyway...lol) i have 10x6 deepdish mambas (huge offset) they rub the arches a lot and its about the same height as the chap with the blue mini photo'd i cant go anywhere near full lock otherwise ill bend my hole wing -_-
i cannot cut the wheel arch because the arches are mounted on the lip, and if i cut it theres no lip.
so i have either got to change wheels (last resort) or take of the arches lower it and see where im at which changing the arches

just so you know!

whether you need to cut wing front panel area also depends on ride height if its lowered then it will most lightly need triming

Without researching i bought a 10x6 set of minilites with 165 falkens. I was trying to install them on my 1973 mini clubman 1275 gt. I found out that the wheel rubs on the caliper. When i treid to install it on my 1970 mini k with the 7.5 disk conversion. It still rubs but very very small a washer would clear it. What can i do to clear the calipers on the clubman?

normally the wheels should be a straight fit on a car with 10" wheels as standard.

what was your car built as as standard?

likewise they should fit on any 7.5" brake set up for 10" wheels.

more precise info needed. calipers? where is the rub?

and what is the ET on the wheels? are they for a Mini fit or?

pics are great.

Both cars have a 7.5" disk setup. The only difference one is after market and one is original. they rub where the bleeder screw is. I bought this wheels from Minisport and they are supposed to be for a Mini. is it safe to use 19mm spacers in the front? The center caps are also loose they sink into the hub.

For those with 10x6 wheels catching the arches, have you checked the situation at the teardrop mount? You may need / get away with spacers between the back of the teardrop mount and the subframe. On my car, when I took out the bolt, there was a few mm gap, which when the bolt was tightened was being squashed up. I inserted large thick washers between the mount and the subframe to take up the gap. I didn't actually need this to correct any rubbing, on my car with 10x6 GB's there is no rubbing (it's close though!) but spacers / shims in this area can increase the clearance to the front edge of the arch in some cases. They were fitted at the factory on some cars to correct rubbing.

Minispares sell packing spacers for this : http://www.minispare...sic/2A4292.aspx

Just a thought.

It would still all come down to the offset of the wheel. I have 10x6 wellers and without cutting the arches it would have never gone round a corner. With this in mind when I replaced the wings and front panel I had to cut it out to the sports pack arch size in order to clear

Like I said I would be asking the sellers.

You may just have some out of spec wheels. But I would be finding out what has actually happened.
