Have to say seems a bit of a stupid idea, they're just not designed for it and a majority are just plywood and foam, there are thousands of types of car seat out there, you'd be better finding a comfy one from a nice car and modding it to fit. My dad's Jaguar XJ8 seats are like sitting on a sofa.

Splash out and buy a set of proven seats, compared to modern cars and crumple zones ect the mini is a death trap
please don't add to it, spend your money on something else

I know they have no crash zones, and have made no plans to spend money on actually doing this.
I'm trying to find out why or why not I would be adding to the danger of driving a mini.

I know that without taking an expensive chair in bits to find out what the frame is like then do the same to a standard mini seat to compare, it would be absolutely wreckless to just fit one and then use the car. I think everyone can agree on that.

I think if that was done though, and someone who is competent at welding and an engineers opinion could ensure that it was at least as sound as the standard mini seat.

The problem is though, IF it needed reinforcing then it could end up cheaper to just get some leather mini seats anyway.

I don't know what G forces could be expected in a rear end shunt but whatever they were the back of the seat would have to stay rigid at however many G times your body weight.

One could always just take all the padding/leather off and put them over the original mini seat

WHY HAVE I ONLY JUST THOUGHT OF THIS???

I don't see any problem with this, aren't these chairs already designed for office racing? :gimme:

Really, this is the funniest idea I read today.
