I know, it's stupid, but it's a case of the MOT tester having to follow the rules they've got infront of them.
Believe me, I know that bonded joints can be strong, but that's not the point.
I also agree with the point that people selling items to car owners have a responsibility to let them know that fitting said item may cause difficulties for them in the future, like IVA, MOT problems etc.
