Our Mini was recently used for a Which Magazine article and here is the short film. She is in the current issue (January 2012) on page 58, although the article in the magazine is essentially the same as the film. However, there is one error, Speedy is a ‘60 Mini (built July 1960, and registered in August) not a ‘61.

That’s the hardest she’s ever been driven, well during our ownership anyway! She’s my husband’s and he wasn’t too keen to let her do it, but Which could not find anyone willing so he relented in the end! I’m really pleased to see her being driven and being a bit useful. It’s a pity that neither of us could go with her to watch due to work commitments, but Which were excellent and arranged to collect her from storage and return her. They looked after her immaculately and offered to pay us which we declined, so instead made a £200 donation to the Italian Job Charity. And yes, we are very proud of her

Yes, lovely Mk1 you have there.
Nice to see the two compared to see how cars have developed but, to be honest, it could have been your Mk1 against any modern hatchback. The results would have been the same.
I also know which one I'd rather have, and it doesn't begin with 'B'

Yes ok comparing acceleration, braking and swerve is going to be better in a newer car.. but if it wasn't for the leaps in design development in the original mini, the cars (bini's included) today wouldn't be as they are. The real mini set a new standard and a whole new way of automotive thought.
Be nice to compare similar cars, ('59ish era) to the mini in that test. (Similar purchase price of the factory model) And then see how the mini stood up against them.
