has anyone else experienced this, everytime i put ANY part on ebay for a mini, i get someone wanting to buy it in portugal?

even when i put no overseas buyers they still contact me with broken english, hassle me about any other parts i may have, and then still bid despite it saying "no overseas buyers please" at the bottom of my listing.

im having a right game with "minifever" on there at the minute. funny how their english "isnt very good" but they understand any technical information, or anything else for that matter, but they dont understand "are you ever going to pay?"

I have sent loads of stuff over there, sometimes you get the odd nightmare but more often than not they paypal the money straight away and don't question the additional postage costs. I think you manage to find out the weird Portuguese haha

Easy option - if they want to buy, sell to them. They aren't all scammers, I rarely had problems.

Many Mini parts achieve far higher prices if you allow 'overseas buyers' on your ebay sales and it is usually well worth the effort and extra postage costs. They will pay more because these parts are far less common or impossible to source locally for them.

I don't understand the no overseas buyers mentality. Your obviously going to wait for them to pay before you post the stuff and they are going to pay for the extra postage so what's the difference to you? It's the same post office you go to to sent it.

Im in Ireland and I get stuff across all the time, I've never not paid or had anything get lost in the post either yet there are still loads of sellers who won't post

Unfortunately I've had loads of stuff go missing both here and abroad. Sent two parcels to the same address in France (to get under weight limits), one arrived and the other didn't. Fortunately I had the right amount of insurance on the postage so was able to claim it back.

Simple thing is this: If they want to pay the extra money for sending stuff abroad tracked delivery then they're usually worth a punt.

As for the "no overseas" bidders thing you actually have to change your settings specifically for this: it is a long drawn out process and not really worth it.

I would be more worried about the idiots who say they want something, win the item and then just don't bother paying. If their feedback as a buyer is good, there's usually a reason for it!

The only things i dont send overseas are big bulky items as the postage price is stupidly high, things like seats etc cost about £350 to send!

I've arranged shipping of engines, interiors, doors and all sorts. It's expensive but if they pay for it what's the problem?

Anything I send has to be recorded and insured

It's not a problem, i just dont imagine anyone would want to pay £350+ shipping for a set of seats. I have advertised seats internationally, got loads of questions about shipping but no one wanted to pay it so why bother!!

Every time I put something on ebay, the same portuguese fella asking me how much to post there. No reason to doubt their sincerity but if anything goes wrong with overseas post, you are in for a hard time. Italy seems the best country to loose things.

Yes Italy is the worst, i have had loads of problems and only send stuff recorded there now. One item took 3 months to arrive, posted it in October, arrived boxing day!!!

I have bought and sold on ebay for years and never had a problem. I sold over riders for an Austin A60 to someone in America. The postage was quiet expensive but the buyer was more than prepared to pay it simply because they couldn't get they parts in the states and it was rewarding to know that you have helped out a fellow enthusiast and got a good price for your bits at the same time!
