does it have a new windscreen seal fitted? the extra wide ones if not fitted right tend to leak at the corners where the rubber is bunched up, had it on a few minis in the past where i fitted a new seal, ended up taking the screen out and refitting it for a better seal

Also check the foam seals that go around the door strap and the interior light door switches. These are a common culprit for interior water leaks that often gets missed. The foam degrades over the years and then either splits, breaks away, or fails to form a seal. They sometimes also get removed during A panel replacement and other bodywork repairs and don't get refitted, so can be missing altogether. >_<

Iv given up drying to keep mine dry now to be honest.

Just keep the carpet out and use newspapers or towels in the footwells

Even when new, i've always used some sort of sealant before putting the locking strip in. never had one leak, except for the one time I didn't use any sealant.

With the dashboard off, there should be three nuts holding the top dash rail on, one in the middle and one over each air vent, once they are off and with a bit of wiggling it should lift off. It takes a while jiggling it past the windscreen rubber.

You might be able to do it without taking the dash off if you go through the air vent holes and radio hole but it's probably worth the extra effort in just taking the dash off.

only take me 2 minutes have the dash off , 6 wing nuts to undo , so the new plan of action is , take the top dash rail off , put talc down , then get he hose on the car then see where it comes in from , then try sort out the offending areas , might put a new windscreen rubber in while i have the screen out , put silicone is the bit the screen sits , and then put silicone where the rubber meets the body work, the doors sit against the door seals tight , the water come from the inside of my door , like the window seal at the bottom isnt tights and the water is running straight down there

so i pulled my dash out today to take the top dash rail off (didnt manage get it off) , while i was doing this it started raining and water started to come in , noticed its mainly round the windscreen seal so i think thats my biggest problem for water getting in i did take some pictures of what i found
