The mega figures sound about right - with a working vacuum advance mechanism - it will indeed pull up the advance like that. And drop off completely at full throttle leaving just the mech advance. I wish I had megajolt! But I'm hopeless with electronics...........

You probably have other issues apart from your wanting to get your ignition set up nicely.May be better to have another thread asking why you have the lacklustre performance.Yes getting the timing right is good but I dont think it will cure your main issue. 36deg? probably about right as your dizzy more than likely has 26 deg mech advance so you'd be back around the 10 deg on idle without the vacc.which will pull it up some more on idle which you have found it likes. I spent hrs messing with dizzy springs and eventually locking the mech advance before realising I was going in circles and went megajolt. My final and best attempt was to lock the mech advance but keep the vacc. Which is basically what I have with my megajolt but a bit more precise. That way,as bmc so rightly says, the vacc will drop off the advance when you floor it but pull it back for cruising and idle.
