Can anyone tell me how to or have a link to anyones project that shows how to remove the hinge panel but keeping the door frame in place? Is there an easy way to do this? I have rust between the seams (near the door step repair I made) I cant get to with a wire wheel so the only way I can think to get at it is to remove this panel. Check my project link in my signiature for some pics.
Also should I sit the shell on blocks or can I do this repair while on a spit without the shell distorting?
Any help much appreciated.

Do you mean there's rust between the flitch panel and the hinge panel or have I got it wrong?

If you look at the bottom front corner of the door step where it meets the hinge panel & flitch, it's between the door frame & the piece behind that. I need to replace part of the flitch where the A-panel wraps around so could I get ot it from the back of that? Here's someone elses pic, it's the bottom right corner.

Hi mate looking at that pic it looks very simular to what ive been dealing with, it looks like you will need to remove the A-panel to get to the area properly but by the sounds of things you knew that anyway im guessing the flitch will be rusted and part of the inner sill.
In my project thread theres some pics of that area all exposed have a look might help http://www.theminifo...__fromsearch__1 its only one page so not much to look through. I would have put the pics n this thread but photobucket isnt working for me at the moment, not me being lazy
