Icons on your desktop just slow your computer boot up time

Icons on your desktop just slow your computer boot up time. My pc boots up in less than 20 seconds
If you have a average computer icons shouldn't slow it down too much?

Its the amount of icons basically and the amount of little programs you have in the right hand bottom corner too.
For Example Msn slows your start up time by some stupid time of 2 minutes i think. When you have it set to sign on and start up when the pc is turned on.
