Well got home from work this afternoon and started the engine removal process on the doner mini. weather permitting should have it out tomorrow and stripped ...

It was raining sideways not just wet!

This mini supposedly only failed the MOT with a hole in the floor !!!! . found a few more dodgy areas ... Front subframe rear mounting Front subframe non existant pear drop mounting ,both missing.. Front subframe rear mounting drivers side body torn Driver side front foot well badly corroded you can see the subframe mounting Another pic of the drivers footwell Spray foam in n/s and o/s sills to fill corrosion N/s and o/s inner arch behind A panel (toe board) The subframe was only really mounted by the tower bolts ....

I bought this off a so called mate, said it had only failed on hole in floor . should have looked it over but you trust mates don't you !!! I bet the Mot'er nearly died when he realised this was a daily driver...... If it ever went for an MOT that is, oh well another full resto for me , I've done it once before with Ratty...... Think i'll call this one Ratty-2-ie

Haha, nearly pi**ed myself at this!

With some repairs/strengthening around the subframe mounts, set of front floors, and a bit of patching, that's not too bad a mini.

You want to solid mount the front subframe anyway, those standard rubber mounts are awful!

Made my own solid mounts for Ratty, as for the rot that's only the front end !!!
