or could i swap the lights around so the reversing light is on the passenger side and foglight is on the drivers side?

cheers james

This would by far be the easiest option. Then you still have reverse and fog lights! :D

Yes you can. Is the fog wired in correctly?

Not sure the arches cover the wheels enough for picky MOT man?

And the black and silver plates

What about your yellow headlights, it could fail on that if it impairs the light.

I asked my local police station about wheels/arches when I was thinking about what arches I could fit and after radioing the traffic specialist they said no part of the wheel should extend past the bodywork. I'd imagine it's to protect pedestrians when they walk into the side of the car. So while it might not be of any concern to the MOT man he said 'if you had a police man that was feeling picky then you can technically get done as they are illegal'.

Edit: I was under the impression that the fog light had to be on the centre line or right of it. And that's a very nice looking back of a mini!

Is there any regulation on how far the exhaust tip is allowed to stick out past the back of the car. From the picture it looks like it sticks out a fair ways.

hi, it doesnt go past the bumper, i just think its the camera angle.. ;D

Surely cars of a certain age (i.e. this one) aren't legally required to have a rear fog light fitted any way, (I'm thinking pre '84 maybe? ) If it's not a legal requirement then would it actually matter which side it's fitted on?/ Even if it does, then surely if you were to disconnect it for the MOT, then it shouldn't fail if it's purely decoratrive and not required to be there in the first place??

As for the reverse light, I'm sure there's some legal issue over having that sort of lamp wired in for use as a reverse lamp. I seem to recall that like rear fog lamps, it only applies to cars after a certain date though, so possibly wouldn't apply in this case.

Maybe someone "in the know" could clarify all this??

I like the look of it lots. Lovely :)
The only thing I can see it failing on is the wheels sticking out of the arches.
(Although I could be wrong)

The combination of the red lamp and the clear looks really good, I like it :)
