200 6R4s were built - this looks like most of them.......

Video (link below) : MG Metro 6R4
"It’s funny how more than 25-years on from its short but sweet career in front-line rallying, the MG Metro 6R4 is still venerated by anyone who’s been near one. With explosive acceleration, a V6 soundtrack and truly unmistakable Group B looks, how could anyone be unmoved?
Sadly, Group B was cut short for the start of the 1987 season, and the astonishingly promising 6R4 was never allowed to reach its full potential in world championship rallying. But it made a mark, nevertheless – and this excellent period feature charts its story. Enjoy."

But was it as good as the more attractive looking and better engineered Ford RS 200 Group B car?

The 6R4 definitely sounded better than the RS200.

All those Group B cars were awesome. I drove an RS200 at Ford Comp's Dep't at Boreham and it was indeed fantastic. It was a pleasure and a privilege to drive it.

I suppose I would say that really!!
But my involvement was mainly with the chassis design definition and the body to chassis interface, plus assisting Ford with the team which did the engine installation and packaging. The styling was done by others, and a nice job they made of it too.
I could tell a lot about the criminality which was involved with the 6R4 and for which one or more went into the nick - eventually.

That green 3100 pickup next to it is the same (except orange) as the car that got me to the church on my wedding day.

A bit off topic there. Lol
