Hi, Just joined this website because hopefully i`ll be purchasing my first mini soon and doing a full restore back to originallity (as i can get it) . Just looked through your thread and gotta say it`s a top job so far and hopefully i can do as good a job, keep up the good work mate

You might regret saying that in a few month`s time when i`m bombarding everyone with the simplest tasks that leave me scratching my bonce

[STREET TWEAKS]

Driver side looks fine, Nearside,...... I would weld a seam on the door edge, (christ sake not on A-panel edge) thin on top, wider in middle and thin on bottum, grind back a sand flat, use copper piece to absorb heat and weld on low amps, (setting 1 and min) pending what welder you have,in 1 inch sections up and down so nout get to hot, have a nice 3-4mm gap top to bottum and around the whole door-frame, you might have to do this a few times to get it right, but worth while doing.

hi mate i havent got a welder i will mention it to street tweeks as he will be fitting new door skins so he might be able to do something to make it better cheers tom

haha we have all been there we wont mind i will do my best to help you. i only just started myself as its my first mini so still learning as im going a long but there is allways someone on here to help what make is your mini and when are you going to make a start? got any pictures? cheers tom

Not managed to snag one yet i`m afraid, been searching for a few month just not found anything close enough or cheap enough until last nite when this came up http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649 so going to view it 2moro and hopefully make him an offer he can`t refuse and be able to make a start

haha i just been looking at this on ebay as well. have a good look for rust there is bound to be some looks like a great mini from the pictures anyway let us no iff you have it cheers tom

one word of advise to you, you ever done one b4, if not think hard before you commit yourself to a long expensive journey, not saying you should not! Good luck, I reckon the seller will go to end of auction.

It`s litterally 5 minutes down the road so it`d be perfect if i could get it, an i`ll definately get some pics up aswell

Nope this will be my first, but i`ll be getting help off the father in law who`s abit of a dab hand with old car`s (moggy minor`s mostly). I`ve always had a soft spot for the classics and i decided i wanted something i could get to the end of it and say "I did that" and being a welder by trade will help i hope

Hahaha 2 months thanks, i was thinkin more 2 years. If i can do as good a job as tom and in his timescale i'll be happy. Lovin the clean finish to the underneath

Well i`ve finally got one, http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649 pick her up on sat and then i`ll get some more pics for ya, so ya can give me your opinion i`ll start questioning ya soon .... How`s the project coming on anyway aint seen no pics for a while, did ya manage to get the door`s sorted??

nice mate looks like a great start and im just waiting for my paint job witch will be end off april and hopefully street tweeks who is painting it will try and do something to them cheers tom
