Why get a MINI when you have a mini already, a countryman would make more sense, 4 wheel drive and four doors sure sounds nice.

We had a 53 cooper for about 4 years, now swapped for a scirroco but i love them, great cars, fun to drive.

The small boot can be an issue but if you go to do a big shop (asda, morrisons say) the back seats just pop down with flip of a catch on the back of each seat, so if you've ever got anything very big it's not a major issue.

The only problem we had was the power steering pump, common fault on the early coopers, cooper s. oh and the run flat tyres arn't cheap!

because the countryman looks bad and i have no need for 4wd or 4 doors, or the budget to get one!
the eclipse grey one looks cracking!

have heard of this problem, seems very common! (joined the mini2 forums)
if the run flats aren't cheap on the mainland i'd hate to see the price at my local garage!!

There is a company http://www.bba-reman.com/uk/index.aspx who do remanufactured bmw pumps on an exchange, it was relatively straight forward, took me a mornignt to swap it.

We managed to find a local chap who sold part worns for a good price, which was lucky.

We have a 2011 Cooper S with the JCW package , fully loaded with all the bells n whistles and some aftermarket performance mods. If it hadn't been for our Bini I would have never found Kermee. The Bini is my wifes Anniversary Present. It's confortable and very quick and lots of fun. I don't get the Bini bashing either. Makes people sound bitter. If anything it has opened a lot of eyes on to the classics.

When I went to pickup my first mini the guy at the hire centre swapped our Ford Fiesta booking to a BINI D which was great fun to drive, came home in the Cooper Sport which was also great fun and I had a big grin on my face...Although its a bit of a pointless exercise, it was an interesting chance to compare the two on the same journey (albeit one in reverse).

Both handled really well but the Mini won hands down
Both had driving positions that didn't really suit me on a long drive
BINI nailed the motorway as you would expect
BINI had more buttons to press which kept the teenager amused although there was a fine line between keeping him occupied and driving me mad, sadly he didnt find the ejector seat button
Mini got waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy more attention on the drive home and plently of waves

So I liked em both, my hearts with the Mini but I'm fancying an early JCW Bini as an alternative daily driver if the budget ever allows.

You can always swap to normal tyres which fit the same rims, cheaper, better grip and smoother ride and carry a spacesaver spare under the boot floor on the Cooper and One........but the twin rear exhaust boxes and boot mounted battery on the Cooper S mean you can only carry the puncture repair stuff in a can.

I think you should immediately add your superb MINI pics to the TMF 'Proof Bini's Can Look Cool!' thread I have linked above!

They look really good with no front numberplate........is that legal in your state?
