I think the HIF38 was standard on Mayfair(?) 1275 cars ( I may have the model wrong but 38's were standard on some 1275's ...maybe most )
I had a 38 on an old ADO16 1275, and it ran like a top...pulled very well......I didn't want to spoil it with a 44 as it ran so smoothly.
