welding

measuring up the rear valence

Another layer of paint on the doorstep!!

Hopefully when this is all welded in, I can get the suspension and temp engine in and start on my actual engine, the reason for this re-build

I'm getting very close now, going to be booking the mot for 2 weeks time, so thats my deadline to have it running so I can iron out and issues before L2B.
Right now for the pictures
Passenger side radius arms, all complete, torqued up, etc etc.

drivers side, still needs a thrust washer and grease cap to be fully complete (on order).

Cut off the old crappy valance support brackets

welded on one new on so far

I'm all prepped for the second one to go on, and I've drilled all the holes for the rear valance to be plug welded on.
As soon as my bits get here (thrust washer, grease cap, wheel nuts and a grub screw for the drum) the rear wheels can go on and it will be off the axel stands at the rear. The engine should, hopefully if everything goes to plan be going in this weekend. Then its just plumbing it all back in and putting on the front hubs and then hopefully, I can drive it

I've also been thinking more and more about this fast road engine I'm going to be building, and I think, I'm going to go carb'd, I like the injection system but if I'm going to tune it I want to go all out and I just don't have the money at the moment, so I think a nicely tuned carb engine, maybe a 266 or 276, weber 40 or more than likely a HIF44 or twin 1.25/1.5 su's and with a 1330 bore, but this could and probably will all change.

Tonight I have finished the welding!!!!!! YAY!! Pictures will follow soon. Also the handbrake cables are on not as exciting but still.
I should be borrowing a mates engine crane for this weekend, if not a family friend runs a tool hire business so I ca get one from him if not, all things going well the engine should be in this weekend and I can start plumbing it in.

Got another update aswell, the rear suspension is fully complete both sides. Although I have slight play in the drivers side bearing even though its torqued right up, may have to remove it all and see if I can get to the bottom of it.
Anyway, engine in this weekend, I've got my hands on a chain and pully, but if this doesn't work I'll be renting a crane.
Thanks for looking
