Hi all I have bought this 1979 Mini Clubman Estate back in June 2010, after selling my cooper spi as it became a money pit, and I have always wanted a clubby estate. This one was found on the Clubman estate register, and it was bought from a nice guy in Northamptonshire, who had owned the car for 10 years or so. The car came with a full service history all stamped up to date.
I wanted somthing that was standard and honest, and thats what I got, on the face of it he wasnt to bad, rust at the front and a few bits and pieces here and there, nothing a 79 mini wouldnt have. Main thing was the blowing exhaust. After a test drive was in love well after stamping on the brakes and forgetting it wasnt the spi cooper and had drums all round lol
After getting the car back home I was so happy with it a proper retro ride :) the next day was the national cooper show, and although I didnt take the clubman to the show, I did however sort the exhaust and get a full front to back maniflow single box system with 3 branch manifold, was well happy with that and couldnt wait to fit it!
I never planned to restore the car so soon anyway, but have now had to do some light restoration, as I had a small bash, which teamed with some running issues lead to me taking it off the road.
Now heres for some pics if it lets me uploads some !!!!

Looking good on the repair front, thank god I wasn't worse! I have always preferred the clubby estate's to the GT's, the clubby front fits the longer wheel base much better than the saloon in my own opinion. And I found out just not so long ago there was a clubby estate up for grabs not to far from myself going for a bargain price.
Still, got myself a Van now and I WILL get him back on the road again.
Looking forward to see how this clubby estate will turn out.

Thanks 'welshminiman' for you comments, i will try and keep this updated as much as i can, i do agree with the clubby estate over the GT's and the saloons, but u cant beat a nicely kept GT mind :)
james that would be grat if u have the bits there to do it :)
and u cannot beat the lucas euro headlight covers they look amazing on minis and make the clubbys look even meaner :)
