I could have access while at work but Headteacher says it'd be unprofessional... can you guess what I do for a living yet?

As it's a bit cold in the workshop and TV is so boring I would rather be on here trying to help Mini owners keep those dear little cars going.

Retired meself, so I pop on & off tmf between decorating, shopping, cooking and checking the allotment, the chickens & Huey*, walking the coast path, etc.
The amount people are in touch while out & about these days contrasts with my working days only 15 years ago. Mobile phones were strictly for voice calls, and in the office only the boss's secretary was allowed to access the newfangled "e-mails" or indeed the newfangled "internet".
Going back a bit, Mrs T worked for Motorola and had one of the first in-car phones in a heavy box. It was supposed to be voice activated but it had a strong Chicago accent and couldn't understand anything we said.
Going back a bit more, when I were a newspaper office boy, stories handwritten on small bits of paper were passed from the reporters' room to the printers fixed to a line with clothes pegs ...
*"Checking" Huey usually means a 20-mile drive just to make sure he's ok

When I first joined I managed to make time to check in every morning before starting work, then at lunchtime and then in the evening, but now have a job where I feel incredibly busy all the time, which means I only get to check occasionally to see what's going on - lately only been looking at the weekends, although I've been trying to have a quick look in the evenings too.
At least I still recognise the names of most of the posters, but I miss posting as often and being up to date on lots of random mini info

Usually spend a couple of days at the gliding club, two or three days working on Mini engines or my own Minis, and the rest of the time going out-and-about or relaxing. Best job I ever had.
Can we trade lives please?
I could have access while at work but Headteacher says it'd be unprofessional... can you guess what I do for a living yet?

You are in Cambs, so you would be most welcome at my gliding club which operates from the old RAF Upwood base near Ramsey in Cambs.
