That is bonkers. You obviously take great pride in your cleaning though so can't hate on that.

My method isn't quite so intensive. I don't have a hose or outdoor tap so have to make do with a bucket of water.

Products I use are Turtle Wax shampoo, Turtle Wax polish, some wheel cleaner with a sort of shaving foam brush and some Autoglym metal polish. Oh and a chammy. Nothing too fancy.

I haven't even vacuumed my car in almost two years. I just pat the carpets down now and again. Job's a good'un!

A good paint finish is expensive, so it's good to protect it with correct washing method and a good coat of wax on top.

I'm using megs pro shampoo and dressing, AG glass and interior cleaner, VRC is nice, and at the moment a Dodo wax. I think I maybe like the AG hd wax better though. Two buckets, big mitt, and a fluffy towel!

It's pretty cheap, as waxes go, so long as you don't buy it from Halfords. It comes in a little kit, its easy to apply and buff, and it gives a great deep shine. Really looked good on my BRG Cooper, and it lasted well.

I know  , there are actually a few good deals on ebay. I use farecla liquid wax top, as I find it gives a much deeper shine than the autoglym super resin stuff. I would like to try a proper wax though, but can't decide which to buy >_<

I also use the showroom shine as I find it keeps the polish on the car really nice and it is easy to do and keep on top of :D .

cheers 1994 alex, made a good read! i've always fancied giving my car a proper wash and polish, but i dont think i'd really know how to go about it or what equipment, polish, wax ect i'd need for a learner!
