MPI and A series heads

hi all
have a MPI engine and a early 1275cc 940 head with larger valves than normal. will this early head fit on a MPI engine?

It will physically fit the engine yes but you won't be able to fit your alternator or some other things back to the engine after it's built. An MPI engine needs an MPI head until adapting brackets for these things become available I believe.

the engine is already built and running. doesn't the alternator fit to the block. is there a water by pass hose from the pump to the head on a mpi?

i thought the heads were the same shape size etc.

and then theres the need to run unleaded because of the cat

But it won't be built while your swapping the head will it? So there will be an 'after it's built'. ;D

On MPI engines the alternator bracket fits to the head as well as the block, as the alternator has been moved higher to clear the front mounted rad used on non-AC MPI Mini's.

There is no bypass hose.
