hi all
Having a mini ..which i would consider a classic car i'm trying to achieve period looks but with modern hidden upgrades !

i have just acquired 70s BL speaker pods and fitted alpine speakers into them
i have 2 old radiomobile radios and know that you can buy them off e bay fully serviced with an i pod connection but for extortionate prices !
any ideas how this can be achieved as i have a friend who can solder and into electronics and stuff where as i haven't a clue
i need to attach an i pod lead and also make it a stereo unit not mono is it as simple as changing the pots ?
any diagrams / advice greatly appreciated ...
ant :-)

the reason its expensive is because it is quite complicated. You prlly find they have alot of other parts upgraded at the same time.

You got a link for these radios?

If you have no luck on here, try sending this guy a message on the talk audio forum. He upgrades and fixes amps, so I would imagine he might be able to help you.

Having 2 speakers playing one signal is still mono really - stereo is two different signals, left and right.

The easiest way i can see is to use a cheap 2 channel amp that accepts speaker level input. Then run the cable from the HU into the amp - and the speakers off each channel.

To be honest this seems to be a lot of work for a mediocre outcome.

I can't see it being possible to change it into stereo without a whole new HU circuit board

even if it has speaker level input, still will be mono, it'll just split it. It wont be true stereo.

My post was meant to come across that way (doh).

I should have been clearer
