when my sterio is in CD mode and a disc is playing it is fine until my engine revs hit 2000rpm. This makes the track sort of jump and crackle. its not vibrations because the roads around my area are poo and it never skips.
what could be causing this, any help much appriciated ;D

Does it make a whining noise that chages with RPM?

He means the stereo. If the interference is a whining, then it's probably the the suppressor on the alternator that is buggered, can't see why it would only start at 2000rpm though.

Do you have a seperate amp? if so make sure that this is earthed at the same point as the stereo.

Also check that the screw caps on the spark plugs have not come lose. these can vibrate around and cause really annoying interferance.
