Are they road legal, i.e. would I fail my M.O.T. on these ?

ive got a set of sparco pedals on mine (didn't fit them) ive got size 10 feet and can drive it fine , i did used to catch the brake sometimes when i first started driving, only probably is when my trainers are wet i sometimes find that my foot starts sliding off the clutch, but my pedals are completely smooth in all fairness

Perfectly legal but nightmare for use on a Mini with the pedals so close together. Will make heel and toe pretty tricky to get right.

Not ideal for a Mini IMHO. There is nothing wrong with the standard pedals even for very competitive driving.

If i remember correctly there was an eppisode on wheeler dealers that mentioned this. Whey the were doing the intergrale. The pedals ate supposed to be a certain distance apart. 5 cm if i remember correctly.

im a bit confused how people say its difficult to drive with pedal covers? iv found it just fine in my mini, heel and toe n everything.

technicaly NOT legal tho because your suppost to have non-slip coating on the pedals (usualy rubber)... you could put skateboard grip tape on them to get around it though

yes, it was the legality of putting them on that I was querying. There are a few threads with pics entitled "pedals" where TMF'ers have added aftermarket pedal sets.

as long as there is an anti slip device on the pedals, you won't fail the MOT 1/2" or 5" apart.
How practical it will be to drive is down to how you fit them.

can see the ones in mine there, altho most likely be getting changed as there not visualy pleasing! I dont have anti-slip stuff on mine either as the only time i drive it (well never because its been so long!) is in the dry, if its wet, i drive to the conditions

Yes it's the anti slip part that I'm concerned about failing the MOT on to be honest. I'm not sure if the indentations on the pedal count as anti-slip or if they must be rubber

Mini93 - is yours a road car (looks like a racer) ?
