It was a rally car when i bought it, so completly road legal too... its going a make over for a weekend/track toy. Its still going to be road legal and altho My MOTer is fairer than most, dangerious stuff doesnt get overlooked.

if its the look of the pedals your after, you can be quite clever with how you cut the grip tape/anti slip stuff and still make it quite aesthetically pleasing

Yes I'm getting a custom red interior for my refurb so it was the look I was after. Will look into skateboard tape and see what I can do with it.

The anti slip doesn't have to be rubber. The pedals are even allowed to be completely smooth, providing the manufacturer got the vehicle type approved in that condition, you can't fit smooth pedals yourself. The patterning on those pedals counts as anti slip and as long as it isn't worn away it can't fail for that. BUT you can fail for dangerously modified brake pedals and if the tester doesn't like the anti slip on those pedals he could fail it for that. If you don't like the feel of them when you get them, would you really want to drive the car in that state? Grip tape would work well, but maybe too well! Try them when you get them and if you don't like them then add grip tape or rubber tape.

Lots of places make rubber plugs that are supposed to be fitted into the pedals with holes in, as shown above, in order to make the properly legal.

The ones I have just bought are very similar, If your worried about your MOT just pop them off when you take it in and then put them back on after. I dont see why it wouldent be legal to have them. My ones come with an anodized surface that feels like sandpaper, so I'm just gonna risk it for the biscuit on my MOT.

yes I was wondering if the surface was sufficient, but only an MOT tester on the day will say I suppose

I actually spoke to DSN before I created this thread. I was after a set to go with my custom red interior, but DSN advised me that anodising them would wear away.
Thanks for your input - great minds think alike eh ?
