the engineer phoned me up and after a heated discussion, he said something like "you can find loads of really good minis on autotrader for under 2000" and i was like "nah mate, they are either rusty or very high mileage, i've been doing my homework this week" and he said "i've been doing my homework for 18 years" and i wasl like "minis werent worth this much 18 years ago" and he said something else which was abit weird and i replied with a sarcastic "shutup" because i thought what he was saying was a bunch of lies. and he quickly made an end to the conversation saying he doesnt appreciate getting told to shutup.

so i feel abit bad because maybe i was abit harsh on him, but annoyed because he's refusing to do what i ask, its either his way or no way. and i'm losing because of this, when the whole point is to get my mini to the exact condition i had it or a replacement and he's not believing me that i cant get a nice replacement for under 2000.

so i can see things going downhill from here. it is now being dealt with my insurance now because he's refusing to work with me. so i'm getting as many examples and taking pictures of them on minis at a similar condition as mine just to cover myself that the car is or may be worth the amount i want.

Tell him to show you these examples, you can both go out there and you can point out the rot to him if he keeps going guns blazing.

If he wants to be awkward, so can you.

you might not be the only one that didn't get on with him

agree with above, complain to the insuramce company.

a basic "starter" mini at our place is normally over £2k and i think we are one of the best value dealers. dont get me wrong there are bargains out there occasionally, but you get what you pay for.

You can argue the toss!

Was the crash your fault?
