the guy admitted fault. all the technical side has been dealt with, so the engineer is just being a jerk thinking he can give me as little as possible. and i told him if he's not gonna give me the money i want, he can go out and buy me one cheap likes hes saying he's finding, with low mileage and no rust. and he just said no. so i told him to give me what i wanted if he's not going to do that.

i was sat next to him when he was on the phone,
its really annoys me that you have to pay insurance for many years without making any claim then when something does happen and its not even your fault they mess you around,
you really should go higher with this josh, its really not on

It's not irrelevant, it's spot onI may of read this wrong but a few years ago I had a Rover 620 turbo, ticked all the boxes for a motor to cruise around in, unfortunately for me some donut side swiped me putting me in a ditch, car was badly damaged.
This engineer said I have valued the car at this amount and we had some major arguments, he did this so the insurance only had to pay what he agreed it was worth, typical way of paying less.
I fought this all the way and got nearly double what he said, as I proved he could not replace my car like for like for his crap valuation.
Just my little story it may be irrelevant but it's late!!

The thing is with minis is recently they have shot up in price, and the insurance company will pay out book prices for cars, which is all well and good if the car is new (ish) but with cars like minis the book prices are really low compared to the amount it actually costs to get a suitable car. The best bet would be to get as many examples of cars in similar condition to what yours was and prove that a good mini doesn't come cheap!
