Hi,
I bought a written off Sportpack Cooper back in 2000, It was a 1999 with 5000 miles on the clock and had hit something very unforgiving. This was to build my MPI engined Clubman Estate. Usual subframe/toeboard damage and passengers door shoved back and well jammed. The airbag DID deploy and I removed all the guts from the crash pad and glued the flap back and use the wheel as is. I would be interested in buying a black cover from one of your may wheels if you still have one. There are a few not very good pics of the write off on my site.

I was involved in a heavy front end crash with my MPI a few years back and the airbag didn't deploy. I though the airbag was only there to make you think your safer, lol.

I crashed my 1997 MPi Cooper into a Nissan Micra when it was about 18 months old. That was my first and only experience of an airbag deploying. They definately work!
