will i damage anything if i drive with just the speedo cable connected at the bottom and NOT connected to the clock??

im respraying my dash and cant be arsed to connect everything to drive just 10 miles!!

My speedo cable snapped just behind the clock on the way to work last week and had to drive it back the following morning without it. All it did was the end behind the clock rattled a bit, no damage :)
