Mini Engine Sizes?

Hello.

A bit of a random one, but does anyone know all engine sizes that have been in the mini.?

850, 998, 1098, 1275??

I can't say that I've heard of a factory 1380, might be wrong though....

848..970..997..998..1071..1098..1275....are the standard factory sizes....... ;D


these are the only engine sizes that were produced by the factory for mini's...............1380 is an overbored 1275 as is 1293...1310...1330...1360...1400...and then you can bore and stroke a 1275 out to 1440....1460 etc plus all of the overbored sizes for the small bore engines...you can bore and stroke a 1275 out to over 1500 if your brave (or stupid) enough.

These are the size, bore, stroke, original year and applications:

848 /62.9 /68.3 1959 Mini Mk 1, 2 and 3
997 /62.4 /81.3 1961 Mini Cooper
998 /64.6 /76.2 1964 Mini Cooper and 1967 Mini Mk 2 onwards
1071 /70.6 /68.3 1964 Mini Cooper
1275 /70.6 /81.3 1964 Mini Cooper, 1275 GT, Rover Minis
970 /70.6 /61.9 1964 Mini Cooper

just measured the stroke on my engine and its pretty much 83 bang on which isn't on that list so which engine am i most likely to have

83mm................are you sure?...........does your engine have 'S' rods then?

people normally offset grind 1275 cranks to 84.3.

The 1098 cc engine is 83.72 mm stroke.
