i need to get a few new bits before my engine can be worked on,
i need:

new built up head, stage 3.

new 1293 pistons.

piston rings

new (re ground) 1275 crank

i know i can get all these from allt the usual places, but i need them as cheap as possible, does anyone know the cheapest place? obviously i dont want cheap and nasty, quality but cheaper than minisport/minispares.

any advise appreciated.

Ebay, got a set of 1293 pistons for 40 delivered

For crank you are better getting one ground rather than hoping for something good occurring on ebay, but you will also need to get new bigs ends, mains and thrust bearings..

As for pistons, if you by 2nd hand then look to replace the rings, otherwise buy new.

i'm not getting off ebay, i need them like, yesterday LOL! i did have some second hand pistons but they are no good, so im going to get it all new.

What sort of pistons have you been looking at, £400 suggests forged ones, are you specifically after forged ones?

I think a set of AE (+20) cast pistons would be about 150-180

no im not after forged, iv spoken to simon at morspeed and he's doing me some for about 80quid i think. so iv sorted than one.
