Do remember that you will need to find a Burberry hoody to wear and a lot of items of bling once you have completed this tasteful modification.
lmao
On a serious note though, if you want a bonnet vent, get one near the carb, cold air = more power

On a serious note though, if you want a bonnet vent, get one near the carb, cold air = more powerit gets pretty hot down there, I remember reading somewhere that on the bike engined minis, a roof scoop forcing cold air down to the carb or throttle bodies was giving an extra 5bhp or something similar. Not sure if you would see that big a gain on a normal 998 but it must make a difference ? Anyone got dyno tests of something similar ?
Jimmy
Won't do anything for a mini, once moving above 20mph the carb gets air that is the same temperature as the ambient air temperature outside the car.

I second that lol!
I read on another forum somewhere that some geezer went out for a spin in his mini. He had a temperature sensor mounted at the front grill and one mounted right at the carb to see how big the temperature difference was. He recorded pretty much what Jammy said, when you are moving the air flow around the engine makes the temperature at the carb pretty much the same as ambient at anything over crawling pace. Cold air feeds, bonnet vents all bling, not really necessary unless you've got some hefty mods!

just a matter of cutting 2 holes then fitting some mesh behind????
Yes, as long as you can find a hole cutter big enough to fit in a normal drill
Then spot-weld some mesh behind
