They are a repair sill that fits over the inner sill and attaches to the floor unlike the short sills which fit roughly halfway down the inner sill.

They are seen by most as a bodge or something to cover old sills that have not been removed i'm afraid.

What are over sills?

They're the full width style sills without the vent holes in the bottom, often associated with corrosion problems as the absence of vent holes means that they trap moisture and condensation inside the sill. Also notorious for being welded over the top of existing rotten sills to get a car through an MOT. Basically they put people off because you never know what "nasties" are lurking underneath them. :(

Oh right. I removed all of the old sills inner and outer and replaced with some sills from North west minis.
All the work carried out to the highest standard and before the inner and outers were fitted were painted inside and out.
I just thought sills were sills.

You could do but as you are selling and as long as you can prove there is nothing under the oversill i would leave it to the new owner to sort out. Drilling hole wont do much good as the area that get affected with these sills is where it attaches to the floor.

I spent ages protecting the inside of the sills because i know how bad they get. My old mini was a right mess thats why i made sure it was prepped properly prior to fitting new ones.

Did you take any pics of the work you did inside the sills before fitting the outers? If people can actually see what's inside there, then they might not be so put off by the presence of your oversills...

Yes, I would be too. It is a BOC, so worth more.
