I am restoring my 87 mini and I'm looking for a good but cheap way to sound proof it all, I have found a few things on eBay but was just wondering if anyone would recommend any other product or alternatives.

Dynamat extreme or superlite once heated a little with a hair dryer is the stickyest substance on the planet !!

The Original Dynamat without the aluminum foil was hard to work with, he most likely means that.

by the way the stuff you linked to is basically Flashing tape.

It has no clever acoustic properties unlike Dynamat or Silent Coat etc, its just for mass loading.

Flash tape is fine for the money, just get it from a building wholesaler for the right money ;)

The the best real sound deadening on a budget is this stuff:

What I would do is wait and save your money, so that you will have more to spend on deadening.

If you buy cheap, its not going to do a great job.

If you wait, save a little money so you can afford the better stuff, in the long run it will work out better... there's no rush is there?
You can always run with no sound deadening for a while, I did, wasn't that bad :P

Just thought I'd add to this thread with a link to some under carpet sound proofing I found. This stuff is used in industrial applications & is self adhesive plus at 2m x 0.5m x 9mm you wouldn't need to spend much to do a whole car. I'll be investing in some as soon as our car's back on the road.
