Yeah me too, we've got it in some of our A/C units at work. It squashes down when pressed but springs back well & is dense too so good noise absorbsion qualities.

As (at the time) I was on a very strict budget, having just bought my car - T&T on the road, only for it to cease to be 5mins later with a shopping list of problems (gotta love Mini's), I went with the flashing tape route and added some closed cell unbranded foam from eBay.
Topped off with carpet underlay.

Completely unhelpful and pointless, gratuitus video:

(May have to skip to 35seconds, it's still editing in youtube - apparently)

Just put in a product called Fatmat in mine. Reviews say it's not as good as Dynamat, but its a lot cheaper also. Going to try it and see how it goes. Anything will be better than the rotted bit of carpet underlayment...

And it the Fatmat doesn't actually reduce the noise, it's sticky enough to at least hold all the body parts together!

This was posted a while back in answer to that exact question.

I've used 84 SQ.FT in/on mine.

48sq ft of Dynamat Superlite
36sq ft of Dynamat Extreme

Then under the bonnet I've also used dynaliner.

This did include the roof though.

This being ruckus i'm sure he properly covered every possible expanse on metal! :D

I would advise that you buy a pack of sound deadening, be is silent coat, dynamat or what ever you choose, and see how you go. Idea being, when you run out buy some more! Until you got as much coverage as you want.

Edit: Just realised you said clubby estate, you will need more, but as I said start with one or two packs and buy more if needed.

I believe the 4mm silent coat (bulk pack), comes with loads of sheets, enough for 24sq ft. So two packs of those would be enough to get you started, but its not cheap by any means O_O
