What To Put On Thr Flanges Of A Door

Hi all , i am about to put a door skin to a door frame i have zinc primed and top coated the door flanges
so would it be a good choice to put waxoyl on the flanges before appling the skin


What have you guys done??

Don't put Waxoyl on before you put the skin on. Plenty of Zinc rich primer, fit the skin, spray / brush paint over the flanges or seam seal. Inside the door again make sure you apply plenty of paint then a good coat of waxoyl.

Thanks neil, after i apply the skin to the door and paint over the flanges can i the apply some seam seal and then paint over that

Yes you can Dave, the external faces of the flange i would mask of to make a nice neat seam.
