Well had a productive weekend, I think I am slightly ahead of schedule with only one set back. Got the wheels center painted black, just waiting on final clear coat, will be done tonight. Went to take the wheels to get the tires mounted, and stupid me, no valve stem holes!!!! So I have to drill those out this week. Got the rear suspension and brakes done, got the front half apart. Big thing is got the engine bay painted and the motor dropped in last night.

I know a lot of people hate black engine bays, but I like it cause it's clean and makes the engine "pop" more.

Fitting valve stems on the rear of the wheel. Used a 1/8" bit, then 7/16" for final size. Then debured it.

Just ordered small spacer for front and rear. 1/4" front and 3/8" for rear to poke out just a hair. Hopefully will be able to go for a test run this weekend, maybe even snap some pictures outside!

Well, I buttoned everything up. Exhaust is done, suspension is all on, will have to adjust ride height after I get it outside, all the wiring, cooling system etc. I got to crank it over on Friday late and it started up for a few seconds and died. Will only run for a few seconds, so I am going to play around with it some more this Friday. I still need to bleed the brakes, get an alignment, and get the car running good. The Mini 53 is in 1 week! I am freaking out. Will snap some more pics soon.

While not a Mini, I am doing the same wheels on the Morris. They will be 16x8 with a 4" lip on the rear, and 15x5 in the front's. Just got the tires last week, should be pretty badass. When I get back from the Mini 53 the 3.4 v6 camaro engine will find it's way into the engine bay.

Good news, CAR IS ALIVE!!! I plugged the fuel breather/overflow nipple on the hif44, I guess it was getting pressurized/vaporlock maybe. Anyway, started right up. Alignment booked for Friday Morning. Going to hopefully get the rear studs done tomorrow and set ride height and button things up. Thanks god! Will take some good pictures either this weekend or next.

Just went to my first big Mini Event, the Mini 53 in Cherokee, North Carolina, USA. The Mini survived the 20 hours of driving, Blue Ridge Parkway, Tail of the Dragon, etc. Got her up to about 75-80mph. It was a lot of driving, beautiful scenery, and of course lots of Mini's.
