So as we all know and appreciate, the mini isn't exactly the fastest car in the world, and for those that crave for that little bit more power go for it, and come back with interesting results, but what I'm asking today is about the feel of 100bhp in a mini, i mean, i used to drive a saxo vtr which was 100, and it felt rapid in the acceleration, but i've driven other cars with roughly the same and it can feel sluggish or disappointing, can anyone share what it would feel like in a mini with an a-series engine, will it pull well through acceleration in under 10 seconds? etc, (reason for interest is i'm thinking of upgrading a little bit)

Oh and i've attatched a piccy for anyone to look at just for the sake of it :D lol

100bhp in a mini will feel (and is) very quick! Depends what diff and wheel size but should be around 8-8.5 secs 0-60 i imagine..

Spend some money >_<

In all seriousness 100bhp at the fly is not that easy. Vizard's bible might be the best place to start. What will you be using the car for/

A mini with 100 bananas at the fly will be a rocket compared to the saxo vtr..
Give a look at forced induction if you dont want something too revvy.

The DVD 'Ultimate Mini - 1380 A-Series' is supposed to be a good one to watch and aims for 100bhp at the wheels I think. Won't be cheap.

If you want power and you have some cash surely the best way is to rip out the A series and drop in a 1.6 vtec or similar. No messing no tempramental bangs just solid reliable power..

Doing an engine conversion is abit of a drop out option imo , I'd be alot more satisfied building with something like a 120horse 7 port, than 160+ from a vtec.
Have roughly 80 ish at the fly atm, and it's no slouch

1.6 K series would be one of the cheapest ways.

I use it as an everyday car, so ideally would just like a little more 'oomf' to get me around, nothing fancy, but definetly noticeable :)
