bit of a big problem through my dad making a mess when removing the fly wheel the thread inside the crank was ruined and today i went back to rebuild everything and now the centre bolt which holds on the flywheel/clutch has gone in and jammed. I don't know what to do now should i drill out the bolt and tap the crank but isn't it a really expensive tap to have?
any help would be really good :)

can you not undo the centre bolt???

sounds like your going to need to tap it. its an odd size, but i believe guess-works may sell the tap you need.

no i can't and i can't even get the fly wheel to back onto the crack so i can lock it. I'll PM him. Thanks

If you knew the thread was damaged - why did you screw the bolt in?? Yes - you may have to drill it out , which will be quite a job. Just wedge the crank against the walls of the block with a good solid lump of timber - and unscrew the bolt witha long lever on the socket.

Try Roy's advice first before drilling and tapping. With luck (and leverage) you will get the crank bolt out and the female threads in the crank will still be OK. Obviously you will need a new bolt. If you need the tap to clean up the female threads, I think in a previous thread it was mentioned that while Guess-Works may have a tap, it was MRA-Minis who had a batch of taps made for re-tapping crank tails.
