Hi

Just returned to mini ownership after a period of about ooooh, 2 weeks without one. Sold my last one, a silver clubman with all the good bits (13x7s, fully adjustable, suspension, MG Metro engine, 4 pot vented discs etc).

Was planning to concentrate on the other project in my life (VW Camper - no BOOs please) but just been offered a '94 Italian job in need of a new front end for £100, the rest of the body is excellent and the mechanicals and interior are mint - how could I resist!

Simon

Thanks Bungle - If you've got 5 already its only a 20% increase. At least your getting encouraged to get more vehicles - quite the oposite from most I imagine.

I'm up to 4 if you include a Ford diesel van that is being mugged of its engine for the camper. Can't be doing with the aircooled!!

It'll be down to two though as soon as the mini has a new front end and the vans engine is out - daily driver (pug 205 GTi) and the van will be going.

Guessworks - It was harrowing watching the clubby disappear down the road - new one can't replace it - its a bell nose, hold on it needs a new front end anyway!!

I have to say I've never come across any of the rivalry that I've heard about.

I've always thought that minis and campers have a very similar appeal!!

The VW and Ford rivalry on the other hand is alive and kicking HA!
I'm gonna get shot when they find out a Ford engine's going to be at the heart of my VW :D

Yea, I agree with Steamo, there aint much rivalry between minis and VWs or Fords. I think mainly because everyone agrees minis minis are the best, and the fight for 2nd best is left to VWs and Fords.
